Engraved all the way around this buttery gold court band is the traditional ‘wheat’ pattern – an aspirational symbol for a new union, symbolising fertility, growth and abundance. It has been in use for centuries, but was particularly fashionable during the Art Deco period. This is an excellent example of the pattern, although it has been softened in some sections through time and wear. Inside the band you will find the makers mark CG&S for Charles Green & Sons, founded in 1824 and still trading. Manufacture: Modelled in 22ct gold, with a full suite of British hallmarks identifying that the ring was assayed in Birmingham in 1935. The ring is in a class half-round or “court” shape, known for being comfortable to wear. All the way around the convex perimiter of the ring is a traditional engraved wheat pattern. The pattern is clear and crisp in some sections, but softened in others, a legacy from a lifetime of love and wear. The band is 2.3 mm wide, sits 1.75mm high on the finger. Weighs 3.4 grams. Size: (Aus/UK) M 3/4 (USA) 6.75 (International) 53.5 not resizable due to the engravings. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Ready for immediate and everyday wear.
