Lydia Litvyak is best known as the first female Ace Fighter Pilot. Serving in the Soviet Air Force during WW2 she had at least 12 solo victories and 4 shared kills in 66 missions. Alison Oxborrow produced this portrait for us as part of our Heroes & Inspirations project.
